I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami …

Florida Flag

(To be read or rapped in the beat of “Going Back to Cali” from the Notorious B.I.G.)

When the tarpon hit the flats just splits ya
Mouth so big, that ya fly can’t hook ya
Either I trout set or I get ya
From the bow, back through the Glades I hunt ya
Talkin’ to a tarpon hunter
Angler with the loop tight, place that fly right
Spell that fish right, T-A-R-P-O and N
Gassed up, geared up, me and the guide are
Gettin’ wind in the Keys no doubt
But my loops are getting tighter, casting to a biter
Going back to Miami, strictly for the weather
Tarpon, and the snook – better look
No ladyfish please, this angler ain’t soft
Back deep in the Glades, tarpon are boss
Got my box filled: flies that have killed
Florida is where I get thrilled
and there’s more fish, one wish: permit time
I’ma spell that fish one more time, check it
It’s the, T-A, R-P, O and N
You better know that your fly hooks might bend
Recognize a real ‘poon when you see one
Strippin’ a fly until the daylight dies

I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami

If I got to choose a coast I got to choose the West
I live out there, so don’t fish there
But that don’t mean an angler can’t reap in the East
Catch some nice beasts in the East
Sharks are the best in the West, y’all anglers are a mess
Thinkin’ I’m gonna stop, giving Frisco props
All I got is flies for fish that interest me
I shall grip and grin thee
‘Poons here, suitcase filled with gear
Big rods and flies, might lead to lies
People start to flash, Winston and Sage, Orvis
and Scott, gear so hot
Frequently double haul on the flats
Tarpon so fat, trout become whack
Spend about a week out on South Beach
Tarpon there are a lot of, out on Islamorada

I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami

Miami’s got flats fish, Cuban food on the dish
Anglers scream permit permit give me one more chance
Tight back casts on a windy day, the Florida Keys way
On the boat’s bow for another permit chance
Bonefish on the left and right
With a snook I might, get a slam tonight
Paid a visit to Biscayne Bay
Will cast flies until the end of the day, only in M.I.A.!
Bustin’ bait on the bluewater, tuna for the heavy-rodder
Fly lands, rod bends, then the knuckles break
Don’t bother with the bait, this is the sunshine state!
A few more fish then back to the Golden Gate
Or should I take another wish, catch some redfish
Catch fish exquisite, Florida, great place to visit!

I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
I’m going going, back back, to Miami Miami
